Pack 311 Scouts may tent with parents, other Pack 311 scouts, or alone. All scouts may sleep under the stars. The site may not have any trees suitable for hammocks.
If you need a tent, we can provide one. You are encouraged to bring your own.
Departure:
We'll meet up at my house (email Scoutmaster@bsa36.org for address) at 4:30 PM for 5:00 departure (earlier if possible).

I'll be pulling a trailer, so I can't use the carpool lane, and my speed limit is 55mph. I'll be pokey slow.

Friday
Dinner: Sack Lunch, please pack food from home to eat on the way. Please pack about 50% more than you think your scout wants.
Cracker Barrel: Troop provided
Saturday
Breakfast: We'll have grab-n-go food like bagels, muffins, etc. We have to be at the quarry by 8:00 and it's a 15-20 minute drive.
Lunch: Sandwich Bar at the Dig Site. If you're staying in camp, please contact Phil for alternatives.
Dinner: Patrols cook/eat/clean in camp.

NOTE TO PARENTS: As much as is possible and safe, please let your scouts explore their own independence and decision-making. They may make bad decisions...that's ok, let them, as long as they're safe. If they burn their dinner, that's ok. They'll be just fine. If they're unsafe with fire, yes, absolutely intervene.
EVERY SCOUT, EVERY ADULT NEEDS SUNSCREEN! There is no shade at the dig site, and we'll be there for hours in 80+ degree direct sun. WEAR HATS, Long-sleeve sun protection shirts. BE PREPARED!

07:30 SHARP - NO LATER! Depart for Sharktooth Hill; it's a 25 minute drive to the meeting point:
Wear lose clothing, with sun protection. It will seem hotter than 80 degrees.
15:00ish Depart Sharktooth Hill
15:30- 5:00 Free time. Explore river, goof, frisbee, advancement, Board of Review, Scoutmaster Conference etc
17:00-7:30 Dinner: cook, eat, clean up.
